Making Visual Culture // Professor Kirsten Anchor
Mock title sequence/ teaser for the imagined original series "Afterworld." This was an exercise demonstrating editing and text animation.
Showcasing the iconic print maker, Prince of Baltimore, Christopher Reaves (Sandman) for his solo show "Bring Me A Dream."
The becoming of “Sandman;" This series marks a turning point, stepping into his connection to fashion history, menswear and how clothing as expression has open worlds for him in his printmaking practice. Shot in black and white, these frames exist on the cusp.
At a school where the study of gender is heavily systematized and graded like STEM subjects, a student sleeps in and misses the test time for their MAN TEST. They make a mad dash to organize (or disorganize) their apartment and their body in order to fit the requirements of the man test. In the process, they question what items fit into which stereotypical boxes and how they can pass this test while remaining somewhat true to themselves. This film is intended to be a comedy, and relies on quick cuts, quirky action, and a heavy sense of rhythm. We were interested in exploring how we could discuss ideas around gender stereotypes and gender performance in a lighthearted manner.

Intro to Narrative Story Telling Project // Professor Arit Etukudo
Phish Net is a fifteen-minute experimental short film that follows a young college graduate, Del, as she slowly begins to descend into madness after receiving a strange message from an anonymous follower regarding the passing of her pet fish. Pushed to her breaking point, Dels' deeply-rooted relationship to her online world and persona slowly begins to conflict with her real-world relationships, creating a push-and-pull dynamic between herself and the web that only intensifies. As a production team, we plan on starting the film within the computer, introducing the character through the eyes of their followers, and interacting with the Del only through their engagement with the computer interface. Once the inciting incident happens, we plan to shoot using wide shots that parallel security cameras, as if someone is watching Del. We will then shoot it softer once Del enters her low point and her eventual rise towards the end of the film.
INDS Project-- Major Deliverable 2 // Professor Eric Brown
Concept: If school were a movie, the students would be the cast.
Synopsis: main story— Our group (all five of us) are exploring what it means to claim our education. We'll speak on different experiences we've had with such as students (challenges, achievements, goals, etc.) Emphasis on exploring perspectives, choices, agency.
Context: In our INDS Course, Ways of Knowing, groups were tasked to collaborate on a make- shift topography using whiteboard squares, markers, colored pegs, and string. The purpose of this creative discussion is to map out a cohesive image of university looks like using our own different perspectives.
The movie and references of filming weren't real, but rather a figure of speech for our collaboration.
Creative Non-Fiction Writing Assignment // Professor Tanya Olson
Criteria: A Memoir - a point in time that defined who you are or might be.
Highschool might've been the most documented point of my life, I thought it would be a same to put those videos to waste. My friends were a big part of who I found myself to be, and who I find myself becoming -- through discovering what I wanted and what I didn't want. Though bittersweet that they are no longer a part of my life, we were perfect exactly as we existed then. This is my salute to the experiences I was able to cultivate.
